The College can arrange, on request, accommodation for its students. Initially, the college can reserve accommodation with a host family within reasonable travelling distance. For accommodation to be arranged by the college, students must let the College have the following at least two weeks before accommodation is required:

Other expenses (cleaning charges, utility bills etc.) approximately £10 - £20/week may be added to the above rates.
Student requiring accommodation services has to deposit one month’s rent to the college in advance. Deposit is refundable, when the student leaves the accommodation.
A student may, however, stay with friends or relatives or rent somewhere to live in. At present the average price of renting a room in a shared house in this area is £60 -70 per week. The students may also have to pay something extra towards electricity, gas, phone bills etc. Most private landlords will ask for one month's rent in advance and may also ask for a month's deposit to cover any damages.
Students will need money to survive on a daily basis. They will need to have warm clothing in the winter, buy food and toiletries, pay for transport, and any extras. An average guide to living cost would be a minimum of £30 - 40 weekly. |
